Directions - How to get there

Arriving by car :
From Salvador, at Ferry Port "Terminal Marítimo São Joaquim" , cross the bay to Bom Despacho, in Itaparica Island and follow directions towards Valença, on road BR-324.
Or take highway BR-101 and before reaching Feira de Santana (road is poorly posted), follow directions towards Itabuna, then Santo Antonio de Jesus , then follow directions towards Nazaré and finally, Valença.
Those driving from the south of Bahia, highway BR-101 is the best means of access, by car.
Once in Valença, Graciosa or Tourinha, there are facilities where you can safely park your car during your stay at Boipeba Island.
Arriving by air :
From Salvador International Airport, you may reach "Terminal Maritimo São Joaquim" (Salvador´s Ferries Port) by bus or taxi. The distance is approximately 16 miles. You have a choice of crossing the Salvador´s Bay either by Ferry, a one-hour-journey or by a faster Catamaran, in 20 minutes. Upon landing at Bom Despacho, take a bus to Valença, a ride which lasts 2 and half hours.
On arrival at Valença Bus Station(Rodoviária), you may choose :

from 11AM until 2 PM by bus, change at Torinha. The bus rides amidst lush original forest until Torinha, where a boat is taken for a breth-taking crossing to Boipeba, plan for a three-hour journey.

take a 20-minute taxi ride towards Graciosa and the boat leaving Graciosa to Boipeba, at 2 PM, enoying the stunning tropical scenario.

you may also take a taxi to the port, at the towns centre or walk a 15-minute stroll to take the boat leaving for Boipeba, which departs at mid-day, on a 3-and-half hour scenery journey between the isles.
In addition, there are speed boats available for crossing at all times. Departing from Valença, the trip lasts 1 hour, from Torinha or Graciosa, around 45 minutes.
In order to reach Boipeba from Salvador on the same day, you must ensure to leave Salvador at 8:30 AM, the latest.
We can also arrange, if requested, fast boat-rides for our guests departing from either Graciosa or Torinha until 4:30 PM. Depending on the tide, transportation may be provided to the doorstep of "Pousada Colibri Moreré", at a cost of BR$150.- for a maximum of 3 people and their luggage.
In Boipeba, there is 4WD transportation available to cross the island and reach Moreré Beach, in 20 minutes.
Morro de São Paulo - Boipeba
The best means to reach Morro de São Paulo from Salvador are catamaran or airplane.
From Morro de São Paulo to Boipeba, you may take a Jeep, tractors or boat. Enquire on boat schedules for they vary according to sea tides. Tractor or Jeep rides for Boipeba leave Morro de São Paulo at 9:30 AM.
Yes, you may think: "That´s long", however remember the longer the ride, the prettier is the journey to paradise and you are very much likely to enjoy it.
